Anissa’s last culinary tour was a weekend in Paris with Francois Simon, the legendary French restaurant critic who may or may not have been the model for the critic in Ratatouille in the spring of 2015. The itinerary included a tasting of macarons at Pierre Hermé and dinner cooked by Francois who explained about the restaurant scene in Paris, what had changed, which were the improvements and what was lost. There was also a dinner at David Toutain with a menu devised by Francois and Toutain.

Francois took the small group to his favourite market then to La Crèmerie for a picnic lunch made up of amazing French products such as boudin en terrine, excellent hams and cheeses with salad and grilled vegetables. There was also time for a visit to the Musee d’Orasay while Francois was cooking dinner and time on our last day to watch the Parisian scene while enjoying a café at one of the classic terraces, les Deux Magots or le Flore, before meeting Francois for brunch at a new place of his choice.
Then it was goodbye if not to Paris for those who decided to stay on, at least to Francois and me!

In spring 2023, depending on how the situation develops, Anissa will lead a culinary tour of Iran.
